Read & Follow these instructions carefully: TMWhatsApp 8.55 is the successor to version 8.50E which had issues with accounts getting restricted. To work around the restriction, we made a newer version to counter the stock WhatsApp restrictions on the mod. So to install the new version you have to do away with the old one completely. You still can back up your data.
Method 1:
To back up your data proceed as follows:
Browse your phone to: (Internal Storage >> Android) and then rename the Android folder to Android1 and TMWhatsApp folder to TMWhatsApp1 as you can see in the image below.
Now uninstall TMWhatsApp and your (backup) will not be deleted.
During the uninstalling process, Do not keep app data. Please see the image below. (Just click ok and proceed)
Next, rename the folders again as follows: (Android1 to Android and TMWhatsApp1 folder to TMWhatsApp)
NB: if the Android folder fails to be renamed, do not worry, proceed with the next steps.
Once you are done, download and install the latest tmwhatsapp v8.55.
All old bugs will be fixed and your old chats will be automatically detected and restored. For new users just download and install TMWhatsApp v8.55 directly.
Method 2: locating and renaming the com.TMWhatsApp folder
If you have failed to rename the Android folder using the first method discussed above, then please open it from the path below:
Android >> media >> com.tmwhatsapp
Rename the com.tmwhatsapp folder to com.tmwhatsapp1, if it allows being renamed then you can continue to uninstall your old TMWhatsApp. (Again, do not keep App data when prompted)
Thereafter, rename com.tmwhatsapp1 back to com.tmwhatsapp.
Now download the TMWhatsApp version 8.55 and install it.
NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL TMWHATSAPP V8.55, YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO USE THE NEW TMWHATSAPP VERSION 8.55.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO THROUGH THE “LONG PROCESS“, SIMPLY UNINSTALL TMWHATSAPP, DO NOT KEEP-DATA THEN DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE NEW VERSION (but you will loose your chats if you do this).
